In this session, we had a discussion on judicial history of Chitral, with senior lawyer Abdul Wali Khan Abid. Abid saab has practiced law for more than forty years in Chitral. We started our discussion from the time when Chitral was a princely state and it has its own customary laws. The Mehtar (Ruler) was sovereign authority to any dispute or case and he has set council for initial investigation of any case. Later when state acceded to Pakistan these customary laws were changed and interim set up was established. This evolve to what we know today the judicial system of Pakistan.
