Among the participants are two acts that have already represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest. Citi zēni represented Latvia in Turin in 2022, while Justs competed to Latvia in Stockholm in 2016.

Supernova 2025 will consist of a semi-final and a final. The semi-final will be held on February 1, where a jury and public voting will choose the participants to advance to the final. The final will take place on February 8. The same voting system will be used to select the Latvian entry for Eurovision 2025 in Basel. The songs competing in the contest will be revealed on December 4.

Dons represented Latvia at Eurovision 2024 with “Hollow” and brought Latvia to the Grand Final for the first time in 8 years. Dons placed 16th in the Grand Final, scoring a total of 64 points.
