The morning songs of the critically endangered straw-headed bulbuls were heard at the secondary forest fringes in Midwest Singapore on 9 March 2021, around 7.50 to 7.56 am.

Their distinctive calls or sounds have made them famous and, in some ways, also vulnerable to being poached for pet trade.
