Why is it hard to learn a foreign language? Reasons why most people get stuck learning Spanish or any foreign language!

Spanish in Atlanta covers the fundamental reasons why most people get stuck learning a foreign language regardless of age, background and education! Even though people may know some Spanish they just can't get the words out fast enough or at all!

Others have issues with their auditory comprehension, they hear people speak Spanish and it feels like the words run in together, like they can't catch up! It's almost like the ears are being hit with the Uzi machine gun of Spanish :)

Others have issues with the mental comprehension of the language, they don't understand the structure, the essential grammatical pillars, conjugation of verbs, tenses and sentence structure- to mention a few.
Your mental comp. auditory comprehension and conversational muscle most all be aligned with each other and must all be connected to each other in order to be a speaker of a foreign language!

I work with a lot of people that know a lot about Spanish grammar, conjugations of verbs etc.. but they have a very weak conversational "muscle" so in a case like this, I work on developing conversational by using my "conversational tennis" technique and then connecting the three major pillars of foreign language M.A.C.

Learning a foreign language requires physical movement of one's mouth. Your brain not only has to learn vocabulary, grammar and how to create sentences but you MUST also practice creating easy simple sentences. Your brain creates neural paths and shortcuts when you make yourself speak Spanish. What you say is not important, it's the act of speaking that is for the beginner!

Develop your conversational muscle by:

Getting in the habit of answering questions with a FULL SENTENCE.
When asked a question, use the words in that question to create your answer- that way you recycle the words!
When you are driving, talk to yourself, tell yourself what your plans are for the day- nothing mind blowing- just practice creating simple sentences out loud! This like Spanish aerobics for your mouth and brain! :)
Go to a nursing home and visit a Spanish speaking senior or go to a community church- go to Spanish community church events.
Go to meet up.com and find Spanish groups in your area!

Develop your Ears- Auditory comprehension by:

Downloading free podcasts in Spanish-( make sure you pick topics that interest you!)
Listen to old t.v. shows or movies using Spanish audio ( avoid subtitles)
Download free apps that have simple Spanish audio files and simple conversations! DON'T TRANSLATE!

Develop Mental comprehension by:

Taking a class/ reading a book at a book store
Google free Spanish lessons
Go to your library and find out about free Spanish lessons
Go to Spanish in Atlanta's website and learn from some of our videos
