AITA for calling police on neighbor who installed Ring camera facing my house after I explicitly said NO? This privacy nightmare has Reddit divided.

Last week neighbor Sarah knocked on my door asking permission to install a Ring doorbell camera that would capture part of my front yard and driveway. I politely declined, explaining I valued my privacy and didn't want to be recorded coming and going from my own home. She seemed understanding and said she'd find another solution.

Three days later, I discovered she'd installed the camera anyway, positioned directly facing my house. When I confronted her, Sarah claimed it was her property and she could do whatever she wanted. She dismissed my privacy concerns and refused to adjust the angle. Feeling violated and ignored, I contacted local police to report the unauthorized surveillance of my property.

The officer confirmed the camera was illegally positioned to record my private property and ordered Sarah to reposition it immediately. Now she's furious, calling me petty and claiming I ruined her home security. She's enlisted other neighbors to pressure me, saying I overreacted by involving law enforcement instead of working it out privately.

But I tried the neighborly approach first and she completely disrespected my clear boundary. The camera was recording my children playing in our yard and tracking everyone who visited our home.
