Max Beerbohm (1872–1956) was an English essayist, caricaturist, and parodist, celebrated for his sharp wit and artistic talent. He gained fame during his time at Oxford, contributing to the Decadent movement's publication, 'The Yellow Book'. Beerbohm's essays, filled with humor and light commentary on trivial subjects, are collected in works like 'The Works of Max Beerbohm' (1896). His only novel, 'Zuleika Dobson' (1911), is a satirical fantasy set in Oxford. Renowned for his caricatures, which humorously depicted literary and public figures, Beerbohm solidified his place in Edwardian satire. He was knighted in 1939 and remains a prominent figure in English literary and artistic history.
