Sharp PC-1600 with a GPS Neo-6M module (ATOMIC TIME)

Описание к видео Sharp PC-1600 with a GPS Neo-6M module (ATOMIC TIME)

This video shows Sharp PC-1600 pocket computer receiving timestamps from Neo-6M GPS module through the RS-232 port. The module is powered from the pocket computer. The data rate was set to 9600 bauds. The module was configured to send only timestamps. Of course other data, as position, altitude, signal strength, number of satellites etc. could be sent as well, depending of needs.
As the serial transmission standard is inverted in PC-1600, a simple wiring was done inside the pocket computer to link free pins in the RS-232 connector directly to the pocket computer's UART controller. In this way it can easily communcate with computers, AVR boards or various modules and devices using a standard 'TTL-232' protocol.
