The 3 Key Reads When Driving Baseline

Описание к видео The 3 Key Reads When Driving Baseline

This video breaks down the key reads to getting open shots on baseline penetration. There are three key spots that you need to occupy when someone beats their defender baseline.

-T-Up; which is the space right in front of the rim (this spot doesn't have to be filled, but can create some easy dunks/layups if you can get someone there
-Corner; this is primarily a pass you can make most of the time, especially if the corner man's defender is the one who helps on the dribble penetration. The pass to the opposite corner is referred to as a "hammer" pass
-Slot; the slot is opposite the drive and somewhere between the free throw line extended & the lane line extended. This is often referred to as the "wing" area.

You'll see these three spaces open when the ball handler forces help defense. The key to this read is going through the progression each time.
