The Concept of Heaven & Hell in Buddhism in Simple English

Today we will be talking about heaven & Hell in Buddhism

So forget about the concept of heaven & Hell you have heard growing up,
because in Buddhism,
it is quite different from my understanding.

Buddhists believe in a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth called samsara.
What happens to a person after death is determined by their karma,
which is the sum of their actions and intentions in their lifetime.

Here's a simplified explanation of the Buddhist view on this:

Positive Karma
If a person accumulates positive karma through virtuous actions and intentions,
they may be reborn into a more favorable existence,
which could be a heavenly realm or a better human life in their next birth.

Negative Karma
if someone accumulates negative karma through harmful actions and intentions,
they may be reborn into less favorable states, such as in a hellish realm, an animal life, or a challenging human life.

Heaven & Hell Concept
If you get enough good karma, you get into heaven
and if you get too many bad karma, you go to hell.

But all of these are not permanant,
You will eventually get out out it and get rebirth.
Let me explain in an even simpler english.

Exhaustion of Karma
View it this way,
You get Credits for doing good deeds,
Debts for doing bad deeds.

When you a lot of credits, you get to heaven and when you used up all your credits, you get reincarnation into another life.
When you have debts, you end up in prison and you spend time there to clear your debts and get reincarnation.

Same goes with reincarnation into which lives.
When you have more Good Karma points, you get born with a better life, like First Class when you fly.
And when you have Bad Karma Points, you get downgraded, either a worst life or become an animal,
and it depends on how bad your Bad Karma is, you might become a Cat that has a good owner or a cockroach who is hated by all.

Conclusion
The ultimate goal in Buddhism is the focus is on the cycle of rebirth and the ultimate goal of attaining nirvana,
rather than the concept of going to a permanent heaven or hell after death.
