What happens when you finally land the dream job and realize it isn’t the dream at all?

For years, this six-figure teaching job was the goal. The milestone. The proof that all the hard work paid off. On paper, it looked like success: great salary, stability, security. Everything we were told would bring happiness. But somewhere along the way, that dream job became the very thing that was draining the life out of me.

In this video, I share why I made the incredibly difficult decision to quit a high-paying teaching job and walk away from a life that looked “successful” from the outside—but felt empty on the inside. We chased the idea that more money would mean more freedom, more joy, more fulfillment and instead, it fell short.

Yes, the money allowed us to buy tangible things but those moments were fleeting. The excitement faded. And what was left was the realization that the things that actually matter can’t be bought.

This isn’t about hating teaching. It’s not about being ungrateful. And it’s definitely not about saying money doesn’t matter at all.

It’s about choosing alignment over approval. Life over lifestyle. And having the courage to let go of what no longer fits even when it once meant everything.
