This woodwind quintet arrangement with soprano soloist by Craig Music Publishers of the beautiful "Beim Schlafengehn," the third movement from Richard Strauss's Four Last Songs, is perfect for recitals and special events. This arrangement was written for college and professional ensembles. I have included an alternate bass clarinet part in lieu of a missing bassoon.

I first heard this piece back in my undergraduate days at SMU in Dallas. I was performing on bass clarinet with the symphony orchestra on an all-Strauss program that included Till Eulenspiegel and Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme. The Four Last Songs blew me away; what a gorgeous composition--especially the violin solo in this third movement! Originally scored for a full orchestral, I hope you enjoy this unique setting for winds and voice of a Strauss orchestral masterpiece.
