I recently decided to try GoPro 4k as an alternative to built-in cameras in the FPV systems like Walksnail Moonlight or DJI O4/O3. Even though I was able to find lot of review videos of this camera, I was not able to find some of the information I needed.
Aside from the 4k and 2.7k mode, 1080p is also available. The camera can be set to switch to 1080p when the battery is low as a form of a battery saver. None of the video settings can be adjusted, the camera is pretty much point and shoot (voice command works as expected).
Overall, I am happy with the picture, the fact that it fits inside my wings and that it only weights 86g.
I did not observe any significant issues with Gyroflow while stabilizing the footage, and the image allows for reasonable amount color grading.
I decided to purchase a warranty from the retailer in case the battery (non-replaceable) goes bad.
I did not notice any overheating issues recording 4k indoors, but having the camera inside the fuselage on a hot summer day may be challenging.
