Sandstone Island Trail is a 3.3 kilometre trail at Charleston Lake Provincial Park that features the geological and human history of the park and area. During this gorgeous walk, we hiked past sandstone cliffs, ancient beaches, shoreline vistas, a dried-up waterfall and the remnants of an old homestead. Be sure to check out the rock shelter, take a break along the water's edge and keep an eye out for porcupines up in the trees.


The Sandstone Island Trail is just another amazing part of Charleston Lake Provincial Park that you've got to see to believe. After just one week, this park ended up near the top of our most favourite parks.
