This video describes the history of tanawal area of Hazara division which lies to the north of hazara plain i.e Tehsil Haripur, east of swabi and sawat, west of pakhli (Mansehra) and orash plain Abbotabad and south of District Torghar (Kala Dhaka).This region of hazara contained two princely states Amb and phulraa.Tanol is abode of tanoli tribes along with awans, syeds, abbasi's, and mughals.
Tanoli tribe who came with subaktageen in 988 AD and were settled first in swat, chamla and Buner region and thereafter settled in tanol after conquering the area from Turks of pakhli sarkar in 1472 AD.There are different theories about the ethnic origin of tanoli tribe.According to Murad Ali shah, Fida Hussain, and some European authors, imperial gazzet of NWFP, Hazara Gazzeteer, Mehtab Singh, Dr Muhammad Irshad and Dr Sher bahadar Tanoli tribe belongs to barlaas Mughal tribe (Turkish) while some authors like Ghulam nabi Khan tanoli declare them as a tribe of Bani Israel.Their Ancestor Ameer Muhammad Khan alias beer dev had six sons.Paul and Hind being elder led their tribe.Two main branches palaal and hindwal are after the names of these two brothers.Mamara Khan palal and charra Khan Hindwal led their tribe in war with Turks.
Mamara Khan the laid foundation of palal tanoli state.His great grandson zabardast Khan alias sooba Khan led his nation as a unanimous leader.He enjoyed confidence of his people and was revered by the people from pakhli, Hazara plain, orash plain galliyat, pakhtun tribes of Terbella, Amazai and panjkatha rajgaan.He participated in panipat war in 1761 as a commander of Ahmed shah abdaali's army.Ahmad shah honoured him with the title of Sooba Khan.
