Sandakphu Phalut Trek | Indiahikes Dec 2024 Part 1

This video covers days 1 & 2 of the Sandakphu Phalut Trek I underwent with IndiaHikes from 16th - 22nd Dec, 2024. The first day of the trek starts from this beautiful basecamp set at Sepi, a quaint village in Northern West Bengal. The trek in day 1 covers 13km across mountains, streams and other villages and ends at Sammanden, which is a small village that houses around 150 folks in total. We get a glimpse into the lives and ways of the villagers here before beginning day 2, an arduous climb, to the next campsite at Molley. This day is quite interesting with diverse forest sections cutting across Oak and Pine trees into the Bamboos and back to Oaks and Rhododendrons as we approach the forest clearing. The icing in the cake is witnessing the golden sunset hour as the Sleeping Buddha range takes in the setting sun and displaying a range of shades ranging from hues of orange and yellow and purple on itself and in the background - a treat to one's senses!
