This song depicts the nostalgic times of ‘thotte’, a term in Tulu for arrack supplied in plastic sachets throughout Dakshina Kannada. Karnataka Government in between supplied this ‘Sharabu’ in plastic sachets and these sachets were very popular among the people. Thotte was also popular for its portability! While the affluent bought highly priced premium liquor, ‘thotte’ catered to the needs of the poor people.

A nostalgic portrayal of ‘thotte’ of yesteryears is presented by Melwyn Peris, a very popular Konkani Composer and musician.
