Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has taken aim at people from Sydney while speaking to members of the press on Thursday.

Her remarks come after she rejected suggestions her government is a strain on federal Labor’s chances at the upcoming federal election.

“There’s quite a bit of commentary that comes from people in Sydney, a lot of it from the Liberal Party,” Ms Allan said.

“Their motives are always exposed when they’re giving Victoria a nudge it’s usually for their own benefit, for people in Sydney or for the Liberal Party for their political purposes.”
