This thing is an absolute beast to play - and is the intersection between a rim that was originally made for Bud Herseth, and the preferred cup, throat, and backbore of Phil Smith... and have I mentioned what an incredible player Bob Sullivan himself is? He is not only the principal trumpet of the Cincinatti Symphony Orchestra, but also the former assistant principal of the Cleveland Orchestra AND the former associate principal of the New York Phil, as well as teaching at many of those place's associated conservatories and universities. He is also an extremely expressive soloist and recitalist - and actually is the player that probably had the most impact on my personal sound concept. Any serious orchestral player should check this piece out, even just to get a sense for the kind of equipment these legendary trumpet players actually play on.
