TOURING the ABANDONED OBRY Line from Orangeville-Brampton in June 2022!

Описание к видео TOURING the ABANDONED OBRY Line from Orangeville-Brampton in June 2022!

On the Saturday morning of June 25 2022, I set out to Orangeville to spend a few hrs touring around what’s now the Abandoned Orangeville Brampton Railway short line and thought a handful of my viewers up here would also be a little interested to see the state of the line before it gets pulled up for good and converted into a rail-trail. https://peelregion.ca/news/archiveite...

Kind of unclear still as to when exactly the rail-trail conversion project will get underway but whenever it dose start I think I definitely are to film a little bit of that protect also. *If anyone here happens to know anything more about the project and it’s anticipated start date please feel free to share in the comments down below?
-In March when they first began removing the tracks in Orangeville, I recall a source first mentioning that the entire 36mile line could be all ripped up by July of this year but that obviously wasn’t the case since it’s August 6 as I post this video so I guess really only time will tell for sure in the very end.

*NOTE the Urban city limits at the end**
Regarding my comment at the end of the video at the last crossing I filmed at in Brampton (6 Lane Bovaird Dr) about the possibility of that portion of the line potentially being ‘redeemed’ for a commuter service…. yes for now at least the Brampton municipality (as well as Mississauga’s for the few miles the rail line occupies in their city leading up to Streetsville junction) seems to have decided to leave the railway right of way in place ‘for now’ within their urban city limits because with the populations growing I guess there still is a chance that this rail corridor could eventually end up benefiting the major city’s by offering a commuter service to the growing urban residents.

-What has been talked about for now at least was possibly a expansion of GO Transit service from the CN/Metrolink Halton Subdivision in Downtown Brampton :    • OBRY in Summer 2016!! CCGX 4014 Both ...   , 4-5 miles north to Snelgrove to help Northern Brampton & Caledon commuters if Metrolink end up deciding it’s worth an investment and will eventually become profitable for their company.

-Regarding the SOUTHERN portion of the now ‘dormant’ OBRY short line from the Halton Sub Diamond to Streetsville Junction (8 miles total there), there has been some talk also about using it for possibly an expansion of the new Hurrontario street LRT (Light Rail Transit) which is currently being built in the southern city limits of Brampton and into Mississauga but again they both were just a couple idea’s that the urban municipalities thought of and and I guess really only time will tell if anything ever becomes of them.

Thank you for viewing👍

*** BTW want to see the last train from Orangeville to ever travel over this line? Filmed nearly a half he’s worth of footage myself of the historic day    • RAIL HISTORY!! LAST TRAIN BEFORE ABAN...
