The following videos of drone operating presentations are the final project of Erasmus+ “D.R.O.N.E. – Direct Route On New Experience” youth exchange that took place in Lithuania, with participants from four countries: Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Estonia.

The Erasmus+ project "D.R.O.N.E. – Direct Route On New Experience" consisted of facing the problem of low employability in youth and inspire young people’s active involvement in entrepreneurial activities by developing skills in drone operating and raising awareness of this field as a solution for employment and self-employment. The aim of the project was to introduce or develop young participants’ skills in drone operating and boost their active engagement in entrepreneurial activities.

Objectives of the project were: to introduce participants to all creative content-generating stages of drone operating; to increase the confidence of participants to engage in entrepreneurial activities using drone operating; and to raise the awareness of participants to entrepreneurial activities they can engage in by having drone operating skills.

We would like to gladly share that the aim of the project was successfully reached, and the objectives of the project were met with the eagerness and motivation of our participants, who continue to their drone operating and entrepreneurship journeys even after the mobility. The public event of the mobility was also a great success, and this publication is composed from the presentations of the public event. We would like to thank each and every one of our participants for such active participation, inclusion, idea generation, taking initiatives, active citizenship and striving for better personal and professional future not only for self, but also for other youth members in their communities. We would also like to thank for our partners who step together with us towards the better opportunities for the young people.

Drone Ethics Campaign

Introduction
A Drone Ethics Campaign is a project that teaches people to use drones safely and respectfully. It focuses on privacy, safety, and responsibility.
The goal is to remind everyone: fly smart, respect people, and protect the environment.

User’s manual
The first and most important thing the beginner drone users should do is to read the manual very seriously and pay attention to the rules. If someone neglects this aspect, there could be serious injuries.

Privacy
Now we will talk about privacy, which is a very serious issue if not taken seriously. We as people need to have our own personal space and if this rule gets broken and someone flies a drone invading someones privacy, it very well might involve the law and get a severe punishment. In 2024, Sonoma County used drones first to find illegal cannabis grows, but it was used to spy on neighbors.

Out of sight
Another very important aspect in flying drones is of course paying attention to them while flying. There have been many incidents regarding this matter just because people were not paying enough attention. For example on a New Years Eve 2024 there was an injured man at a drone show.

Airport
So as you saw in the video, flying near an airport is completely forbidden because there is a high possibility a drone might crash into a plane. Surprisingly, there are many examples of it like: Gatwick Airport
In December 2018, the airport had its only runway closed for nearly 30-33 hours because of repeated drone sightings

Crowd
Another thing to consider is that we especially cant fly above any crowds because it’s a very high possibility to make people uncomfortable or even hurt them.

Flying at night
Last but not least, is to not fly the drones at night because many people think they can do it but in many cases they just end up getting charged with fees or even worse, hurting someone. One example would be 3. Vilnius Airport (Lithuania) – Drone sighting around midnight near Vilnius Airport, causing flight operations to be suspended for about 30 minutes.

Conclusion
Drones can be fun and useful, but they must be used responsibly. Everyone should respect privacy, follow safety rules, and respect others. Being an ethical drone pilot means thinking before flying – not everything you can film should be filmed.
