The Woman in the Moon (1929) (Frau im Mond) is a pioneering science fiction film directed by the legendary Fritz Lang, known for his innovative storytelling and groundbreaking visuals. The film was produced by Universum Film AG (UFA) and based on a screenplay co-written by Lang and Thea von Harbou, adapted from her novel.

It follows a group of characters led by visionary scientist Professor Georg Manfeldt (played by Klaus Pohl) and astronaut Wolf Helius (played by Willy Fritsch) as they undertake humanity’s first journey to the moon. However, personal rivalries and corporate greed threaten their quest, leading to suspenseful and emotional conflicts.

The cast features Gerda Maurus as Friede Velten, a strong and resourceful woman who becomes a central figure in the story, and Gustav von Wangenheim as Hans Windegger, whose role adds dramatic tension to the lunar expedition.
