The Lhasa-Ningchi Highway is a first-class highway in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and a component of the G4218 Yaye (Ya'an-Yecheng) Expressway, connecting the provincial capital Lhasa and the prefecture-level city Nyingchi.
The Lhasa-Ningchi highway runs parallel to the Lhasa-Nyingchi section of the national highway G318, and the one-way drive time between Lhasa and Nyingchi has been shortened from 8 hours to 5 hours.

Ya'an-Yecheng Expressway, is the Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway (National Expressway G42), the east-west transverse trunk line of China's national highway network ) is one of the contact lines.
The Ya'an–Yecheng Expressway starts at Caoba Junction, Juntian Village, Yucheng District, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, and ends in Yecheng County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It spans three provincial-level administrative regions: Sichuan Province, Tibet Autonomous Region, and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Nyingchi City, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of the Tibet Autonomous Region, was called "Gongbu" in ancient times. Its Tibetan phonetic translation is "Nichi", which means "Throne of the Sun". It is located in the southeast of Tibet and is known as "Tibet Jiangnan" and "Snow City". It has a total area of 114,870 square kilometers. It is adjacent to Lhasa, Shannan, Nagqu, and Qamdo within the autonomous region, and adjacent to Yunnan outside the autonomous region. It borders India and Myanmar, with an average altitude of 3,100 meters.
