Cecilia Lee Receives Experimental Dual-Chamber Wireless Pacemaker

Cecilia Lee was the very first patient in the Baltimore-Washington region to have the experimental dual-chamber leadless pacemaker implanted in her heart. Her cardiac electrophysiologist Zayd Eldadah, MD, implanted the Aveir™ DR Pacemaker System to treat Ms. Lee’s abnormally slow heart rates. This breakthrough technology is being clinically evaluated as part of a worldwide clinical trial, and MedStar Washington Hospital Center was the only hospital in the region selected to participate.
