Process:

start by dissolving 23g 0f salt in 250ml of water then pour the solution in jar and also hang the electrode inside the jar connect the negative ( cathode ) terminal with carbon or graphite electrode and copper or zinc electrode with positive ( anode ) electrode. place the the tube in
test tube containing 10ml of water. turn on the power supply and wait for one hour. after one hour turn off the power supply and HCl is ready
reaction:
2H+ + 2e–→ H2 [negative electrode, cathode]

2Cl–→ Cl2 + 2e– [positive electrode, anode]

H2O → H+ + OH–

Na+ + OH- → NaOH

reaction in test tube:
Cl2 + H2O → HCl + HOCl
