God Like a Nursing Mother (Sermon from Isaiah

Описание к видео God Like a Nursing Mother (Sermon from Isaiah

Jerusalem accused God of forgetting her. When we are struggling, it is easy to think God no
longer thinks about us or loves us. However, God replies by relating himself to a mother who
has nursed her children. God says that a mother is more likely to forget her child than he is to
forget his people. First, that should change the way we think about God and his relationship to
us. Second, it should elevate the way we think about motherhood. For the Lord, a mother is a
picture of loyalty and faithfulness. Therefore, we must gratefully serve the Lord in response to
his faithfulness, as well as imitate his faithfulness and loyalty within our families.

PRIMARY TEXT FOR THIS MESSAGE:
13 Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth;
break forth, O mountains, into singing!
For the Lord has comforted his people
and will have compassion on his afflicted.
14 But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me;
my Lord has forgotten me.”
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
16 Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me.
(Isaiah 49:13-16, ESV)
