Описание к видео One Breath | The Life of Natalia Molchanova | Official Movie Trailer (2020) EN English | Freediving

The movie, "One Breath,“ is a tribute to the life of Natalia Molchanova, the greatest freediver who has ever lived and mother of Alexey Molchanov, also a freediving world champion and record holder. A Russian Drama by the director Elena Hazanova. Coming soon in English.

Following her divorce, Marina Gordeeva (40) thinks she'll never meet love again. Little does she know that one day, she'll find the love of her life in freediving, one of the most extreme sports in existence, built on diving as deep as possible on a single breath. Marina demonstrates her amazing talents, yet it's her weak points that hold her back from winning the competition. Marina can't leave behind her life-baggage. As she plunges to the ocean depths, her subconscious fears resurface as harrowing visions. In a sport where everything depends on mind control, one bad thought is enough to lose it all. In the vast, mysterious realm of the sea, Marina not only regains her sense of peace and well being, but also redefines her existence.

Natalia was a freediving world champion and the holder of 42 world records. She remains the world’s most titled freediver ever, achieving world records in all freediving disciplines. She won a total of 22 individual gold medals and two team gold medals at Freediving World Championships during her career. On 25th September 2009, she became the first woman ever to pass 100m (328ft) of depth on a breath-hold in Constant Weight with a freedive to 101m (331ft).

Natalia was the president of the Freediving Federation. She designed and established its educational program from beginner to instructor level. Natalia shared her passion and knowledge of freediving both through her courses and with her university students in Moscow. Today, thousands of freedivers have been trained by the Freediving Federation and several hundred instructors share Natalia’s knowledge with a new generation of freedivers. In 2015, the presidency was passed to her son Alexey Molchanov, also a freediving world champion and record holder.

Natalia led research in freediver physiology and was interested in relaxation techniques
and improving freediving performance and safety. She was the author of many articles,
books, and educational materials on freediving. Much of her work has been translated
into English. Her love and passion for the sea are also reflected in poems she wrote and
a short artistic movie she created, for which she received a number of festival awards.
Natalia’s life was about freediving.

Natalia’s aspiration was always to strive for safe and efficient freediving, and to achieve
this through the provision of education and training, and producing the world’s best freediving
equipment. Everything we create now is based on this philosophy and strategy,
but with the latest developments in education, technology and scientific research.
We are inspired and honored to have had Natalia as our founder. Without her, the
Molchanovs freediving movement would not exist today.
