Vantage can be summarized as follows:
In its first version is a shoddy production, lazy writing, missing entries, scattered instructions, and is best avoided.

At best (later editions, hopefully) it tries to be a collection of 126 different story openings that players can follow up on for a handful of scenes. The player gets a string of unrelated scenes and is invited to construct a story around it, as well as taking from memory what earlier plays gave him.
At planetfall you have no cards in grid but tokens to mitigate, and as you fill your grid with cards, your tokens dry up. Either you die very soon, or the game becomes too easy and will take forever unless you include a control mechanism (not provided by SM).

the instructions are really simple if you start with dealing out a color card which already is in the box. That leads to the correct Ziploc and everything follows then logically. Jamey plus his 30+ editors completely neglected any care for the customer.

5:50 and here steps 1 and 2 are a repeat of the setup. Why?!

6:30 the column is also poorly designed.
Just take the deck of cards, deal one at random, redraw if a player doesn't want a difficult starting point, and order the IDs properly to look up which tokens to get.
That whole rolling is unnecessary and slow.

7:45 as i said, needless repetition only to confuse players.

8:00 suboptimal instructions again for player selection.
The player - character selection should be done in the setup of rulebook;
The setting of initial value (3-6) must be done beforehand.
The skill token and starting position belongs in the 000 page.

8:30 Daring is not explained at this point!
Ideally it should be printed on the center board.
That veterans may lower their initial stats should not be indicated to p13 but should be explained right there in the setup. Unnecessary redirection.
Also page 13 from the book of secrets should instead be under setup.

9:30 when to go to p13 when on the 000 card you were ready to go?
The editor was probably drunk?

9:45 Why the fuck is Before your first game on page 13? Should be on page 1.

10:00 where to start with this page, everything is wrong.

10:15 aside from character actions, there are item actions. Those are unlimited.
Use those item actions to decrease the CD pool, because the costs are known, printed on the cards.
Then when you are faced with a a high cost Action you chose, the CD will likely refresh.
And to make this work, the cards need to have slots that allow CD to be placed, and often you gain cards with all kinds of limitations, preventing you from placing challenge dice.

This is an inherent design flaw.

12:10 Two-step activation cards like this need a proper explanation in the rulebook.
btw the black cube is the silver boost cube, not the black CD.
(talking about poor design choice again)
