Visiting the Pueblo Mágico of Mapimí

Stick around until the end for a tour of our hotel.
Come along with us as we explore the tiny Pueblo Mágico of Mapimí in the state of Durango. After having to scramble to find a place to stay we were off to check out the Pueblo Fantasma (ghost town) of Ojuela. There we walk across the longest wooden suspension bridge in Latin America before getting a guided tour of their mine. Afterwards we traverse the valley on a tirolesa (zip line). Back on solid ground we check out the remnants of the old mining town.
On our way back to Mapimí we notice a shiny object on a hill, so we drive up to check it out. It ends up being a huge Christ statue (Cristo del Señor de Mapimí), and from it you can see the entire town.
In centro we check out the Plaza de Armas and main church (Templo de Santiago Apóstol). Right next door is the Benito Juarez museum, and after visiting it we pop into El Lejano Oriente for a bite to eat. Finally, we stumble upon the beautiful town cemetery (Panteón Municipal).
