Fred and Rose West killed and tortured at least 10 women in Gloucestershire between 1967-1987, burying many of the remains in their garden at 25 Cromwell Street - where our next guest lived as a lodger for 18 months. After being abused by Fred herself, 17-year-old Kathleen Richards fled the so-called ‘house of horrors’, but her friend and fellow lodger Shirley Robinson was not so lucky. Years later, as the truth about the Wests unfurled, Kathy discovered -along with the rest of the world, that Shirley had been brutally murdered, 8-months pregnant with Fred’s baby. Now a mum of three, Katherine joins us to reveal how she managed to escape with her life and how her testimony as a key witness at Rose’s trial helped to convict Britain’s most ‘evil’ woman.
