Knockdown! Solo Sailor Abhilash Tomy: Onboard footage from Hobart to Les Sables-d'Olonne

Abhilash was 3rd to pass the Hobart Film Gate and stayed a full night after a tiring upwind battle toward Kingston Beach. On February 7 2023, 1000nm NW of Cape Horn, he experienced a massive low pressure system with up to 65 knots and 10m swell, suffering two knock-downs without damage.

In another storm, 300nm NW of Cape Horn, he reported that he had lost his last pendulum rudder for his windvane, sailing with a leashed tiller. His deck had got punctured by the windturbines after 'going underwater again'.

On February 18, he was second around Cape Horn, 10 years and 23 days after his last rounding!
