Started quite wet and dreary but got somewhat better until the late afternoon when it started raining again very heavily so I quit a little early.

Richard came to help again. Today was mostly rafters, I cut, he placed. There was some clean-up of the north east gable wall so all the look-outs would be perfectly placed over the dropped gable end. I still need to cut all the blocking for the gable ends...

I also added a couple of extra studs under the end beam of the loft floor at the walls for extra support, removing a small shear moment in the top plates and returning the gravity load of the beam directly into the middle piers.

The cathedral part of the roof is now basically complete. I cut the flying/barge rafters for both ends and moved all the 2x8 subfacia boards to a staging area. I also had to move a great number of 2x12s and other boards to get access to the rest of the rafter 2x6s. Some extra 2x6 are arriving in a few days for the final dormer framing (and they need a landing spot out in the driveway!). The dormer loft design change requires some extra 8-foot for the dormer gable walls, rafters and cripple studs for the cheek walls. The ridges will be 2x10s which I already have.
