For the past four years, the rails of the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad have been somewhat quiet... or at least when it comes to steam. While Central Railroad of New Jersey #113 has proudly been at the head of her successful annual Santa Claus Special trains, the RBMN's own ex-Gulf, Mobile & Northern 4-6-2 "Pacific" #425 has sat in the shops, mostly receiving maintenance after the excursion seasons of the past three years. December of 2018 brought the return of the blue Pacific to, as the crews like to joke, "Save Christmas", alluding to Ronda Lynn Michel's children book "How the 425 Saved Christmas". Originating from the southernmost terminus of the RBMN system, Reading Outer Station, the flagship steam locomotive follows the banks of the Schuylkill River, passing through towns such as Leesport, Shoemakersville and Hamburg before reaching Port Clinton, the headquarters of the railroad. You've got a ticket to climb up in the cab and take a ride in the fireman's seat on this scenic rail journey. Now, please enjoy this exciting video brought to you by Blue Comet Productions!

This video was filmed on December 9th, 15th and 16th, 2018.
