How to Make Dreadlocks

Watch me give my little girl her first dreadlocks!! Partials till she is bigger!!!

There are a lot of ways to dreadlock hair but this is the way I use and prefer. I ever use any wax, I use the Twist and Rip, Backcoming and Crochet Method together. The Twist and Rip and Backcombing creates the loc and the Crochet Method cleans it up and gives it the appearance of a more mature loc instantly.

Making locs is not rocket science. It is simply creating knots in your hair so do not be too critical of your work. Trust yourself, trust the process... and trust that little loc! It takes practice and it gets easier, and with time you will even get quicker.

My dream is to be able to teach others. More importantly, teach them where I came to to learn. I believe everyone should be able to have locs and loc extensions even if chronic pain prevents them from sitting in a dreadmakers chair for hours on end. Or if they live too far from one or if they cannnot afford to go to one. That was me, all of the above, plus I wanted to be able to say that I created them, there is a lot of pride attached to that.
