Demodulator Demodulator is an electronic component separating modulation signal from a carrier signal. It is the most important and difficult component of a wireless module. There are several types of demodulators depending on a carrier signal and a modulation type: amplitude, frequency and phase demodulators with harmonic carrier signal; pulse-amplitude, pulse-duration, pulse-frequency, and pulse-position demodulators with pulse carrier signal. Demodulation is used to separate acoustic vibrations in radio receiving equipment and to extract image signals in broadcasting. Wireless detector (or demodulator) restores information from a radio signal coded by a modulator. For example, reception of radio or TV signal is enabled due to demodulation of high frequency signal transmitted to antenna of the device. In the simplest case, diode or nonlinear component may be used as a demodulator of amplitude modulation. Special cascade is used with frequency modulation. There are also vector demodulators. They can receive any modulation type including aggregate signals used to transmit digital information
