Hey guys and ghouls and welcome to a spooky new Halloween installment of Weekend Wankshop! On episode 151, Uncle Ben here is going to teach you one of the coolest classic horror movie themes ever: It Was Always You, Helen, by Philip Glass, written for the original Candyman! This was apparently also recently used in an American Horror Story episode called Spilt Milk.
This was originally written for piano, but makes a beautiful classical fingerstyle guitar study. This utilizes a bit of the old Chet Atkins 8th note bass line under the thumb thing. Its got all kinds of cool chord inversions and stuff in it. Slap that capo on fret 3 and get to work!
