How Does AtticFoil® compare to products like Solarguard, eShield insulation, bubble foil products, and other foil/foam/fiberglass type products? For METAL BUILDING INSULATION, check out https://bluetexinsulation.com/

Some products CLAIM to have an r-value of over 11 and are ONLY about 1/4" thick. What is never mentioned is that in order to get the R-11 value, the product MUST be installed INSIDE a 2 x4 wood frame and have 3/4" plywood on BOTH sides. It is the ENTIRE assembly or "system" that achieves an R-11 in a heat flow down test. This requires over 3 inches of "dead" air.

Radiant barrier products installed in a ventilated attic are NEVER installed in this method, therefore can not achieve an R-11 value as advertised.

In this video Ed Fritz - the owner of https://bluetexinsulation.com/ reads the FINE PRINT and clearly explains how other products can claim to achieve an r-value of 11 and only be 1/4" thick.
