Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, criticized the impeachment proceedings as a "show trial." Nunes spoke following testimony from Fiona Hill, the White House’s former Russia adviser, and David Holmes, a top staffer at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, on Nov. 21, in a public hearing as part of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. The impeachment inquiry has focused on a July 25 phone call in which Trump asked the president of Ukraine to investigate former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
