THEME 20 - 2024 Old School Blues
When I start playing my harmonica without a plan, it is almost always without the typical 12 bar blues structure.
In my head I hear where I want to go and I follow that.
In this video I play a song I called Spaces.
That's because I only play short licks and give a lot of space to the silences.
At a certain point I automatically feel when I go to a IV chord and from there I continue playing like a 12 bar blues.
After the video was finished I counted how many bars I played in the I chord.
In the first part it was 24 bars,
followed by a IV chord and the rest of a 12 bar blues. In the second part this was 16 bars.
For the players who want to know exactly, I first played a 32 bar blues, followed by a 24 bar blues.
This is how I really like to do it!
