Intersex Model Hanne Gaby Odiele Is Proud

Hanne Gaby Odiele is the famous androgynous model who has walked the runways for all of the major fashion designers, from Balenciaga to Chanel. Earlier this year, she became the spokesperson for Intersex youth, bringing one of the last of the LGBTQAI+ taboos to the forefront.

Two percent of the United States population, the same as the number of red heads, is intersex.

Many Intersex youth go through unconsented surgeries as young children, which dictates their sex before they are able to make their own decisions. Hanne is hoping to stop these unnecessary surgeries and give a voice to people who are often in the shadows. Find out why she thinks being intersex is "magical"!
