What will your child be doing while attending the Samurai Scouts After School Program?

ACADEMICS
Homework/ study time is the first activity of each afternoon. Our program will provide a set, meditation for your child to complete some or all of their schoolwork. Through this study time, counselors will work to instill the value of academics and hard work.

FITNESS
Samurai Scouts will take part in fitness activities each day. Our goals are to increase balance, speed, and strength. This is achieved through aerobic and anaerobic exercise platforms. Samurai Scouts enjoy fitness, games and gauntlet courses. Your child will learn the importance of daily exercise.

SCOUTING
The goal of scouting is to create an understanding of each child's relationship with nature and community. Your child will grow in their knowledge of nature and outdoor activities. Samurai Scouts will learn the value of teamwork, leadership through games, projects, and activities while interacting with peers.

MARTIAL ARTS
American Youth Bushido is a kid friendly Mixed Martial Arts system. Its a combines Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling and Muay Thai Kickboxing. Our belt promotion system is based upon the principle of steady, consistent improvement. Improved self-esteem will be developed through a series of winning experiences.

Conflict Resolution & Team Work
Samurai Scouts will work together in teams to accomplish goals and skills in the program. During these teamwork activities, Counselors will use opportunities to teach Samurai Scouts how to resolve conflicts with peers, the best ways to be effective peer leaders, and ways to positively influence others.

Wrestling
No other sport builds character in a young child's life like wrestling. Practices require hard work, determination and a desire to win. It really helps define a child's mind set. If you should get knocked down, you must get up! It a great metaphor for life!
