Economics professor Antonio Fatas on missed warning signs at Silicon Valley Bank

Banking regulators around the globe are moving to stave off a crisis of confidence after the sudden collapse of Silicon Valley Bank sparked panic among consumers and investors. US President Joe Biden has vowed to hold responsible parties accountable, adding that officials are working to ensure households and businesses affected can access their deposits. SVB is the biggest US bank failure since the 2008 financial crisis. Professor Antonio Fatas from INSEAD shared more about the signs that an unravelling of SVB could happen and how regulators missed those warning signs.
