Eidfjord, Norway 🇳🇴- Our Day in Port

A Norway cruise took us to sleepy Eidfjord deep in Hardangerfjord. It was a dull and rainy day and we hadn’t booked any excursions. It’s a small place and exploring the village takes less than an hour. We knew there was a trail and lake to explore and that there were nearby Iron Age burial grounds. So off we went. It was a pretty walk following the river. Spectacular views across the Fjord and lake with a steep ish climb to the burial ground. A good walk and we made exploring last about 3 hours before we were too wet and in need of refreshments. There are tourist shops and nice cafes close to the port. Lovely Norwegian treats. The highlight was sailing down the Fjord which was intensely memorable. In hindsight this was port to book and excursion in. Still it is beautiful and there is enough to explore to while away a few hours.
