Fort McHenry Suite | Julie Giroux

During the War of 1812, Francis Scott Key was inspired to pen The Star Spangled Banner after witnessing the British bombardment on Fort McHenry. This symphonic tribute in three movements by Julie Giroux mixes narration and music to depict the historic event that birthed America's national anthem. The suite begins by setting the stage with the sounds of rockets and battle, continues with celebrating the hope inspired by the American flag flying over fort McHenry, and ends with an attempt to capture the enduring sprit of patriotism that our anthem inspires.
