Welcome to the channel! In this video, we dive deep into Xiaomi's first state-of-the-art (SOTA) AI model: MiMo-V2-Flash. This new model is a Mixture of Expert (MoE) architecture, featuring 309 total parameters and 15 billion active ones. It is specifically designed for high-speed reasoning and powerful agentic workflows.
We test MiMo-V2-Flash extensively on Xiaomi's AI studio, examining its performance across several challenging domains:
• Coding Capabilities: We challenge the model to build a high-fidelity 3D interactive Christmas tree web application, which it successfully breaks down into multiple steps and generates around 1,500 lines of code. We show how it performs reiteration and fixes issues like camera detection through iterative commands.
• Profound Reasoning and Creativity: We test the model's ability to handle complex conceptual questions, receiving profoundly insightful answers regarding topics like love, impermanence, and what makes life meaningful. The model demonstrated excellent language coherence and understanding of deeper concepts.
• Creative Writing & Synthesis: Watch as MiMo-V2-Flash crafts an insightful non-fiction piece centered on an immigrant's experience using junk and promotional WhatsApp messages as the core. The synthesis was lauded for capturing the "paradox of connection from isolation" and noting that the phone serves as a "broadcast tower and not a conversation".
• Multilinguality: We also test its translation abilities across 50 world languages.
The MiMo-V2-Flash leverages proven technologies such as mid-training with synthetic data, large-scale reinforcement learning, and on-policy distillation. Is this new SOTA model the next major player in the AI space?
