The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has successfully arrested two suspects believed to be members of an armed bandit syndicate attempting to infiltrate the state.

According to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, acting on intelligence from members of the Farin Ruwa community in Shanono Local Government Area, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad and Shanono Division conducted a coordinated tactical operation on Friday, 24th October 2025 at approximately 2 AM, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the community’s vigilance, emphasizing that their actionable intelligence was critical to the operation’s success. The Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the full extent of the suspects’ activities and connections, while intensifying efforts to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
