What's required?

Required only if you are using Strategic Level Planning.

For Strategic level planning, the PromoPlanner does not require Customer Specialties or their audience size to be defined. This can cause issues in some product cases. The Min and Max tables here are provided to help you manage these situations.

For Operational and Tactical Level Projects where the Planning Board is being used, you will have every opportunity to define any level of FTEs as required. No Min and Max values need to be set.


MINIMUM FTEs

In some situations, you will need to declare a minimum number of FTEs that must be deployed. This table allows you to set a minimum limit of FTEs that the PromoPlanner will not go below.

There may be cases where due to geography, you require a minimum number of FTEs to be deployed to cover an area effectively.

This table may be useful in situations where you have a co-promotion agreement with another Pharma company under which you are contractually committed to deploying a specific minimum number of FTEs. The minimum number can be set here

If you have a co-promotion agreement where a specific number of FTEs to be deployed has been agreed with a co-promoting partner. Then you can set both the Min and Max number to the same agreed value. This has the effect of fixing the FTEs required and overrides the PromoPlanner calculation engine.

This value may only need to be entered in cases where the PromoPlanner recommendation does not reach the implementable level of rep support for a product.


MAXIMUM FTEs

In some situations, you will need to declare a maximum number of FTEs that can be deployed. This table allows you to set a maximum limit for FTEs that the PromoPlanner will not go above.

There may be situations where a product has very high sales but a very small customer audience. Product in therapy area such as Oncology or Ophthalmology are good examples. In this situation the PromoPlanner may recommend deploying a large number of reps as they can be afforded, when only relatively few would be required to cover the entire customer specialty audience.

This value may only need to be entered in cases where the PromoPlanner recommendation exceeds the implementable level of rep support for a product.
