Research shows children thrive when their fathers are involved in their education and early life - but traditionally it's mostly mums who gather at the school gates.

In 2017 some schools in Scotland set out to be more father-inclusive, by launching a pilot-study that revolutionised the way they engaged with parents.

Here they present their top tips, plus links to more resources and research for schools wanting to have mums AND dads on board.

The East Lothian Father-Friendly Schools (ELFFS) project took place between January and June 2017. It was designed and delivered by Alison Cameron and Chris Wilson from Prestonpans Infant School, with support from Kevin Young at DadsWork, and Fathers Network Scotland. It was funded by the Scottish Government.
