Whoa, we got to see legendary racer and F1 safety car driver Bernd Mayländer at the F1 Experience live event in Austin yesterday.

Great insight and we all know he prefers ‪@MercedesBenz‬ Aston Martin (sorry ‪@astonmartin‬, still love the DB9).

Bernd is a former racing driver best known for his role as the official Safety Car driver in Formula One. His career in motorsport primarily revolved around his work as a Safety Car driver, and he was responsible for leading the Formula One field during safety car periods.

Mayländer began his career in motorsport in various single-seater and touring car series before he got the opportunity to become the official Safety Car driver for Formula One in 2000.

His role as the Safety Car driver is crucial in ensuring the safety of Formula One drivers during races. When an accident or hazardous conditions on the track required the deployment of the Safety Car, Mayländer takes the lead and control the pace of the field until it is safe to resume racing.
