AUTHENTIC HIGH FIDELITY SOUND EFFECTS
All the sounds contained in this record are authentic, although in some
instances mixing of several ‘ingredient’ sounds has been carried out to create a ‘portrait in sound,’ such as the car crash, No. 7 on side-1.
Lifelike reproduction of these sound effects can be achieved by using high
fidelity reproducing equipment, particularly if the sounds are to be copied onto magnetic recordings or used for stage drama, or cine-film sound tracks, etc.

All the sounds were recorded and mixed by F. C. Judd, A.Inst.E., who is well
known for his unique creative recording techniques.

A small but crucial advance in the history of the synthesiser, as it predates the Synket, Moog, and Buchla instruments, was made by Fred at the beginning of 1963. It was a simple voltage controlled, keyboard-operated equipment for creating, shaping, and switching electronic sounds.

The science fiction puppet series Space Patrol, which debuted in 1963 on the ITV network, was the first on British television to include a full series soundtrack of specially composed electronic music. In his London home studio, Fred combined tone generators, loops, and tape manipulation to create the sounds.
