Emerald Lake | Bozeman, MT | Montana Mountain Biking

The Black Hills of South Dakota certainly gave me an endurance check during my 2019 roadtrip from Minnesota to Washington, but it was Montana that imparted big mountain magick. The towering alpine forests and ever looming threat of a Grizzly Bear encounter had me appreciating the surrounding beauty and looking over my shoulder. I never actually reached the top of this out and back, where Emerald Lake resides so I’m gonna have to get up there next time. This may not be the most technical or gnarly trail but it is hands down the prettiest I’ve ridden so far. This trail is open to mountain bikers but only on select days so check their website before heading there.
